Just wanted to bring this to the top again as it was something that worried me when OH was thinking about going bankrupt and may help others. We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!0

My God - without Child Benefit & CTC taken into account I am in deficit. No IPA for me... Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.
Do they count Child Support? Mine is an informal 'as & when' agreement as to take him to the CSA would cause more problems than it would solve. All comments made and advice given are my own opinions and do not represent the views or advice of any debt advice organisation.
Current balance: approx £17500 including Tax Credit Overpayment
Estimated DFD: never - deficit budget. Cheers HMRC!
Another year over and we're still together. It's not always easy, but I'm here forever0 -
Child support (either informal or CSA) would be counted towards income as far as I know.
But as always the overriding principle is that any proposed IPA/O should not reduce the bankrupts income below that required for their "reasonable domestic needs".
On those grounds alone it should be safe I think, without even having to take into account that it is not 100% reliable.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hiya,
My child support is also an informal "as and when", and after some checking with the OR my case worker decided that it would be unfair to include it. Phew.. although it did take them a while to decide this!Bankrupt at 11.47 on 22/08/2007New debt free life begun 11.48 on 22/08/07 :j0 -

In my office the only income we do not include is child benefit, so this is news to me.
