Samsung TV - 2 faulty screens in under 3 years

Morning all
I bought a Samsung TV back in 2018 for £600. Within 9 months, the screen needed replacing which it was done under warranty. Less than 18 months after that, the screen developed a single horizontal line across it. Samsung said as it was out of warranty to speak to the local authorised repair company, who said it was beyond economical repair and needed replacing. So I went to AO.com who I bought it off and they said "they can offer a repair through our repair & protect policy", but suggested I speak to Samsung again to see what they could offer.
A £600 TV that develops 2 screen faults in less than 3 years indicates to me there is an issue with it. I've emailed Samsung again pointing this out and await their reply, but any suggestions as to how to pursue this further? Should I push Samsung, or take AO up on their offer of repair and protect policy?
I'm not expecting a full refund or replacement (I have after all got almost 3 years use) but some money back or discounted screen replacement would do.
Any suggestions welcomed.

    You have no legal claim against Samsung beyond the terms of any warranty they offered. Your claim (if any) is against the retailer who sold you the TV. 

    It is possible Samsung may chose to do something as a gesture of goodwill or because they feel it helps the image of their brand but you cannot force them. If you can show that the fault was inherent (usually by getting an independent expert report) then you may have a legal claim against the seller. However, as you know, they would normally only be obliged to pay a reduced amount to take account of the almost three years use you have had. If you assume that the average life of a TV is six years (??) then it is unlikely they would pay for much more than half the cost of a repair.
