AMD Athlon 3000G - Seen any in stock?

I've had one of these on back order (awaiting stock) for about 6 weeks. Has anyone seen any stockists that have them available for less than, say £60?
I can find the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G for ~£105, but that would be overkill for this build given its very specific usage.

A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?

  • I hadn't realised they'd resurrected the Athlon brand ... I remember my very first-self-build desktop was based around the original Athlon 3000. :)

HI, you haven't mentioned what you actually want to do with the computer.
You wont get much for £60 though, so if you are looking at that sort of price consider buying second hand.
AMD processors are in very high demand currently

for similar performance, something like an old i5 3470 performs slightly better, and about £25 on ebay

scan.co.uk's next expected date for these is December 30th, and their price is listed as £46.  Whether they do what Amazon does and sell it for the price you saw on the day I don't know.

I didn't think there would be high deman for the Athlon CPUs (no one seems to realise there is a version based on the Zen architecture).

There's an i7-3770 working as a stand-in. The Athlon build is an attempt to build silently cooled, energy efficient machine to display two web pages on two monitors, situated above my main monitors, when I'm working.

Had one on back order with Scan since early November.
