Pest control attic

Hi all,
I have some sort of pest either bird or squirrel in my attic that is driving me insane, I can’t access the attic due to having no flooring down and the insulation going for my asthma. Contacted local pest control but looking for advice on if they would charge just for inspection or only for action?
also thought about trying to seal up myself outside however the attic roof space is 3 floors up.
anyone had this issue or can offer advice?

I wouldn't recommend any action until you know what the 'pest' is. There is a small chance that it is bats, and you will be breaking the law if you seal up the attic so they can't get it. If you are nervous about going into the attic because there is no flooring down, I suspect you are not safe to go up three floors on a ladder. My ladder doesn't even go to the top of my two storey house, and I have a head for heights, but I'm not keen on working that height.
You need an expert to go into the loft and identify the cause. If you are on low income, the council's pest control service might come and inspect the attic for you for free. I think it likely that they will even deal with the cause for free - if you call them, they will tell you their charges. If you find yourself having to use a private company, I would not pay more than £70 for a quick visit and inspect of the loft. Check that they are members of a relevant trade association, such as the British Pest Control Association. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
