Cash withdrawals on Barclaycard

From the first time I ever had a credit card it has been a golden rule not to withdraw cash, because interest starts being charged straightaway, and is charged even if the balance is paid off in full every month. I have just been notified by Barclaycard that from 26 January 2021 cash withdrawals will be processed in the same way as purchases, i.e. no interest charged if balance paid off in full including the cash withdrawal. Any idea why they have done this? Are other card issuers likely to do the same?

Nothing new.
There won't be a high cash ceiling at any rate; so no need to get overexcited. But useful nonetheless, especially as the withdrawal limit per day should be up to £500.0 -
You need to check whether there'll be a fee for the cash withdrawal (Yes, they've stopped charging interest if you pay in full, but will they still charge a fee?). Also, remember that cash withdrawals will be recorded on your credit file. The occasional withdrawal won't make a jot of difference, but frequent withdrawals may be viewed by some lenders as an indication of financial hardship. Just something to bear in mind.
