IMEI Doctor Icloud Unlock Scam

Had an old ipad freeze and say it needed backup/restore. Connected it to the PC and it then got stuck on the icloud activation lock.
The ipad is around 6 years old so we no longer have the receipt, and the apple id is an old email address which we no longer have access to.
Contacted Apple who said we needed to find the original receipt to remove the activation lock.
But after searching online i found a website IMEI Doctor:
https://imeidoctor.com/en_gb/
I paid for the premium 24 hour icloud unlock service at a cost of £47.99
A few hours after payment they emailed to say the ipad was 'not clean' and the serial number was reported as lost with apple. Therefore it would be against there terms and conditions to unlock it or issue a refund.
This is not possible as the ipad was purchased from an apple store and owned by us from new.
They are now asking us to prove to them the ipad is not reported as lost or stolen?
After checking online many other people have fallen for this Scam and many others will do in the future if the website is not taken down

Presume they also now have your IMEI .
317 companies located at that address .
  • The company director is Jody Sanders who only gives the address of his accountants at The Oakley, Kidderminster Road, Droitwich, WR9 9AY (which is the reason 317 companies are registered there)
The Ipad is WIFI only and only gave the serial number (No IMEI)
Just instructed MCA Tracing to locate a home address
    Looking forward to meeting him
