Sky Price Rise Mid Contract

Options
I took out an 18 month contract with Sky 8 months ago, total cost for all channels and internet was £97. This months bill has risen to £129 because they have removed a discount on my sports channels and my broadband was out of contract. I have had to ring up and re negotiate a new price and got them down to £104 pm. As this is now a new contract for TV and Broadband, can I cancel it? I've been with Sky for 9 years and the prices are getting ridiculous now.

Presume you're paying for everything on Sky which is about £80 a month?

Since you've now agreed it you may be stuck for a while.  But doesn't hurt to phone back up and ask.

You should really do a market comparison as you can get broadband (and line) on its own relatively cheaply and also work out what channels you watch.  Pointless paying for movies if you don't watch them for example and if the bulk of your TV viewership is the main BBC/ITV/C4 channels, well those are all on Freeview.

No cooling-off period on a contract renewal.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
