Hi, hoping someone can help. Easyjet cancelled our flights in August due to covid. While we were discussing our options with easyjet we asked for a refund but were told we would only get a fraction of our £1770 back and it would be better for us to take the voucher as we could use it for a package holiday if we wanted too.
So last week we decided to book our package holiday, so rang them up to book but was told I can only use the voucher for flights only had we of known this we would not have accepted the voucher. So they say there is no refunds now.
Does anyone know if I can take this further or if I have any other options
Thanks

Give them the dates of the call and ask for a recording to be listened to. It seems you were given duff information. If Easyjet cancelled your flights you were due a full refund, not a "fraction" (I had no issues requesting and receiving a full refund for cancelled flights with them) In addition if this was a flight only booking they would have known that vouchers could only be used for another flight only booking.
  • Thanks for your reply. I have tried the everything I can think of but all I get off them is that they are sorry for the false information that I was given and because the voucher was accepted they can't refund

About this fraction - was it perhaps only the tax portion they were willing to refund?

It sounds like they are admitting to giving you false information...?

I would go back to them and say if you had been given the correct information at the time you would have made a different choice.
It's not your fault that one of their advisors gave inaccurate information.

I would ask for the recording to be listened to as per a previous poster.

But...are you 100% sure that you understood your options?
Could you have misunderstood what they were telling you?
