Shell Energy January 2022 v4 bill credit

Hi all,

Does anyone know how the bill credit works on this deal please?. I applied/switched on the 5th of Nov however Shell energy doesn't have a clue about this bill credit and told me to contact MSE.

I know the deal has a bill credit of £25 (dual fuels) and separate cashback of £25 (dual fuels). I know when I applied they had 15000 available offers and the following weeks newsletter the figure dropped to 9000, so I couldn't of missed the offer, but nothing was mentioned in the paper work I got from MSE energy club email.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Charlie,
Did you find out when you'll get your bill credit? I'm in the same position. I've scoured my Shell Energy online account for signs of the credit, but nothing. Am wondering whether the bill credit is given at the same time as the MSE cashback, which is typically 3-6 months after switching. However, as the bill credit is provided directly by the supplier, not MSE, I'm not sure if that's the case. I made screenshots at the time of switching, so I've absolutely no doubt I qualified for the bill credit.

Not sure if you got this sorted but I had the same issue and emailed MSE Energy Club and they said the following 

“Thanks for getting in touch.

I can see that you've applied for the 'Energy January 2022 v4' tariff during our recent Big Switch event and can confirm that you will receive £25 bill credit to your Shell Energy account.

This should be applied to your Shell account by your third monthly bill - you don't need to do anything to claim it. “

I switched to Shell through Cheap Energy Club and my account went live on 28 November 2020. In this last week (ending 29 January 2021) I have received both the £25 cash back from CEC into my bank acount and the £25 bill credit from Shell to my Shell Account. Everything went really smoothly with no problems at all. So far, so good.

I have also received both the Energy Club cashback and the bill credit in the last few days. Bill credit is visible under Bills and payments > View my payments in my Shell account. It seems like the cashback and bill credit are linked, as they were both paid on the same date.

In addition, I received an email from Energy Club stating that my cashback had been paid, which I don't recall receiving for previous switches. The email mentions the bill credit:

How much will I receive? MSE Cheap Energy Club cashback is £12.50 per fuel. Sometimes suppliers offer tariffs with extra cashback or bill credit. This is paid separately and should be with you soon (if you haven't already received it).
