DRO and closed bank accounts
Options
I am looking to apply for a DRO, I have a main bank account and a second one I made deposits with money I got from my family helping me while sick and unemployed. As I had this sent via Western Union and keep no proof, I realise it may raise suspicion with the official receiver. To simplify things I thought of closing down my account, will this be a good option? Can the official receiver see I closed an account or will he normally check for it?

You don't declare your bank account as such in a DRO. If it's overdrawn it goes in as a debt. If it's in credit (at the end of the month cycle) that is savings and gets listed under assets.
If it's zero (as sounds the case) then it doesn't get listed anywhere and the DRO Team will have no interest in it.
Now it's possible the bank themselves will search the insolvency register and close it, but that's unlikely1
