BG to E.ON switch - earliest date?
Options
Hi, I'm on this duel-fuel tariff: "British Gas Energy And Boiler Cover Jan 2021", end date 31 January 2021, exit fees £60. I'm planning on switching to this one: "E.ON Fix Online Exclusive v55", via the MSE Cheap Energy Club. What is the earliest date when I can initiate the switch via MSE, to avoid paying the exit fees? Thank you.

The Eon may not be your best move as dual fuel is not generally the cheapest. Put your electric and gas into the comparison sites separately - and go to an independent for your boiler cover if you must (or just put money into a kitty)Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Thanks, BG was the cheapest when I last switched. I didn't pay BG for boiler cover, it was free until the end of the fix deal. MSE is showing Shell Energy and E.ON cheapest for me (small difference between them), but the Shell tariff is not smart. Will also look at comparison sites...
ps. I have contents insurance that includes home emergencies including boiler breakdown.0 -

Like the OP we are with BG although our deal runs until the end of February and EON have come out the cheapest for us as well based on our actual annual consumption and running the numbers through my own spreadsheet rather then relying on the MSE comparisons.
We are low users though. Perhaps better savings are to be had for high users?0 -
I would not use the Cheap Energy Club, they appear to miss out some suppliers.

Try Dual for prices, then Electric only, then Gas only for prices and do your own sums.
