EDF outstanding balance.
The title's not the best but basically me and my partner moved into our first home on 12/10/2020, the energy supplier was EDF and we continued with them and set up our account, under my partnersname, from the 12/10/2020. Since then we have been getting multiple letters about an amount of £31.13 being owed for the dates 25/08/2020 - 11/11/2020, we have sent many back and even spoke to EDF online and told them we have no idea where the previous owner now lives or have any way of contacting them to which they said they will request the letters are stopped and they have confirmed that this is not our bill, I have kept evidence of the conversation. When we were buying the house I believe the previous owner did move out early but was still clearly the owner until the completion date of the sale. I have today received another letter and seemingly they have raised this further to a debt recoveries company AFTER the conversation I had with them and I assume if the balance is not payed by a certain time they will take it further..
My question is, will this affect me and my partner at all? I have the evidence etc and surely its obvious the balance is not ours to pay since our account was set up from the 12th but last thing I was is someone turning up on my doorstep demanding money, I know its not a huge amount but that's not the point.

Whose name is on this debt?
previous owner or your partner?Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -
Well just addressed to the owner/occupier from the dates above so it's not our debt, just had them on the phone confirming its not our debt but they send the letters since they have no forwarding address, seems pretty pointless to me!0

I suspect that the previous owner has closed their account when they moved out (25/8 ?) NOT when the sale was completed ,so EDF are chasing for the intervening period. Surely your solicitors have means of contacting the sellers?1
