ITISON VOUCHER REFUND RIGHTS

I purchased an itison voucher (similar to Groupon but Scottish ) earlier this year for a particular property for us to 8people  at Boreland Lochtay  the voucher was £599 for a two night stay Sunday -thursday valid until end of march  2021 but had to be booked by Feb 22 or risk forfeiting voucher.
We had originally booked for end of November but due to restrictions the company had to email us to cancel our booking and said they would be happy to rebook.
Since then I contacted them with alternative dates and they then proceeded to tell me there are no dates left before march 31st for the particular property and bookings in summer are more expensive for this property and so are not covered by the voucher but the voucher was 'subject to availability' and therefore I could book another property before the 31st march.
All the properties available are of different sizes and functionalities is hot tub, ensuite room sizes and the one I picked was the most expensive. There were other itison vouchers from the company with cheaper deals for the other properties so I am reluctant to book a cheaper property that isn't the one I selected covered by the voucher.
I did not purchase the voucher on a credit card just a debit card and so have no protections this way.
Itison policy says they are willing to give 'credit note vouchers' however as this is a large sum of money I would rather have a refund because the voucher I originally purchased is unable to be fulfilled by the company.
I have sent an email to itison but what are my rights here ? Can anyone help please !?

If they can't provide what was agreed then yes, you're entitled to a refund, however technically it should be to the same method of payment, unless you agree otherwise

So you bought a voucher , rather than paying the accommodation direct, and the voucher has been supplied.
The accommodation is not available  for the dates you want.
Did the purchase of the voucher guarantee you availability on a specific date?

Itison are prepared   to  give you a credit valid for 12 months from date of issue ( per their help centre link) so you could book for a later date.

Your rights are to a refund, but how do you intend to enforce this? Are you prepared to issue court proceedings?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • Thank you for your replies. I just want the direct money refund rather than a voucher or credit note as it is too much money  but I paid via debit card rather than credit card and therefore don't have credit card buyers protection. The voucher was subject to availability however it did say book before 22nd Feb to avoid risking missing out with lack of availability. However this is 3 months in advance of that so the fact they have no available dates and they aren't offering any others is ridiculous. I have emailed it is on to ask for a refund but I haven't heard back. What are my next steps ?
