Listed as sold subject to contract but it hasn’t

I have pulled my property from the market due to there being no properties we would like to buy being listed for 3 months now and not having much interest in our property so we thought we will try again in the near future.
Our agent did not take the news well even though we are in our rights to remove as our contract is up and after several emails explaining why we are in the wrong and the buyer is just round the corner, they agreed to remove the property.
We checked today to see on the 3 platforms we had been listed on all show it is sold subject to contract.
We have asked them to remove it but they have refused stating it is common practice.
Has anyone has this issue and found a way to get them to remove it.

i think they want to leave the property on the portals as advertising for themselves. some agents do this. i don't know what recourse you have to force them to take the property off the portal.0

There's an ombudsman. I'd go to them. It's disingenuous at best.1

That's really odd.
Was it ever Sold subject to contract?
I understand EAs like to leave SSTC properties 'live' for a while, but not after its been withdrawn from sale. I would send a formal complaint.1 -
I have known agents to do this. I presume it's partly to try to make the market appear more buoyant in the area, and also to try to make them look more effective at selling. I would tell them that if they don't remove it immediately you will be going to one of their competitors when it comes time to market it again.0

It's also not unknown for some agents to stick sold boards outside blocks of flats.I would insist it's taken down as it isn't SSTC and you may not want people to think that you've sold when you haven't.Maybe the thinking is someone might enquire about it even though it's SSTC and they'd then try to get you to sell...0

I’ve gone to the property ombudsman but I have been advised I have to give them time to correct this.It has never been sold we didn’t even get an offer so it all to make them look good so that why I want it remove ASAP0

If you have a local Facebook/Nextdoor group for your area, I would make a perfectly truthful post on there about their tricks. It's tantamount to false advertising.

Should be marked as no longer available but I would deffo see about complaining to ombudsman and leave a !!!!!! review everywhere possible for them including Google. Or maybe call and threaten that first...0

classic bait and switch by the EA, seen a few of those in my time, wasted phone call and black listed agent and moved onto to next agent"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
