Delayed another day of nipping to the shops, done "home" shop, another frozen soup for dinner, DH had last 2 slices of bacon and 2 slices of bread for his dinner. Busy burning leftover bedroom wood remnants for free heat and the tumble dryer is on not very frugal:(
Tea is also from the freezer just need to make enough rice for tomorrows selected frozen dinner. Need to get the milk roll bread from freezer in readiness. Need to checkout my current broadband provider and phone line seems a bit expensive for what it is. My small gas and electric companies got swallowed up last year need to keep my eye on what is happening on prices with them. Made some fudge from the kitchen cupboards. Really need to use up my OOD items too.
Stay safe and warm xAnything is better than nothing-check back and see

I have been studiously avoiding buying books - there are at least 3 I would normally have just ordered but having cancelled my Ama*on Pr*me definitely makes it less attractive. Our local indie does free postage but the whole check out process is much harder (even if I wasn't having a no spend Jan!).14

Like Fiwen I have just re-negotiated my mobile contract. I neither need nor want a new handset so was able to halve the costs, saving £180 a year. Very happy with that.8

@Viking_mfw have you tried Borrowbox? You can log in with your library login for free e-books. Also Gutenberg project has lots of out of Copyright books.
We also have an occasional book swap in the door of our club at the end of our street.
Well, I had the plaice for dinner, and it was actually lush! I watched a YouTube to learn how to fillet it, and then on BBC there was a Tom Kerridge's recipe for posh fish and chips. https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/posh_fish_and_chips_96392 - I made the wedges and had green beans frozen from the garden. Just breadcrumbs, dried parsley and lemon for the gremolata, as had some left over from Christmas, and the sauce was yoghurt, mayo, egg and chopped up gherkin. It was very nice indeed!
Keep reading books!

Thanks @wishus - I have just heard of borrowbox from the forums, but my library registration is lapsed and I need to spend some time organising the online form because it doesn't have our branch on it as a "home" for the membership... I have quite enough books to be getting on with anyway which is why it's silly that in normal times I'd have bought more.10

PP anything left on a plate goes to my bird friends. The only things they don't seem to eat are onion and carrot ! oh and uncooked tomato.:7

It’s really hard to resist the lure of a new book @Viking_mfw so well done. Like you, I’ve plenty on my shelf to get through - I got a pile for Christmas. I’ve told myself that I am not buying a single book until I’ve read all the new ones!
@wishus I also use ‘Libby’ to borrow books. It’s also accessed by your library card.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11 -
I know this is going to sound like a silly question but am not good at technology. Can you read these books on your laptop or do you need something like a kindle ?

I miss our library so much, especially the lovely ladies who organised iPad courses early last year. I was so glad I went on one of them. I never thought I’d get the hang of using one.13
