I have two Remoskas too, a medium and a large. I love them, they make the best roast chicken and roast potatoes ever.I have a second large one which I bought from a charity shop which I keep meaning to list on eBay, but never get around to doing!6

I have a remoska too. They have a heating element in the lid so they cook like a mini cooker - food will brown and crisp etc. They are not beautiful to look at but are economical to use.9

Popped to a charity shop today as I broke my last dinner plate. Got 2 that fit my dishwasher and a lovely big thermos flask, plus a book for £3! Very pleased with that.Popped Milton in the flask though it was super clean - plates through dishwasher and wrapped the book up for my partners stocking. Good mornings work.Life happens, live it well.10

Another one here with 2 Remoskas. The Standard one we use in the motorhome and the Large one indoors. Anything you can cook in the oven you can cook in the oven. It cooks at about 190 degrees and only uses about 600watts of power so definitely much cheaper to use than a standard oven or even a mini oven.
Would definitely replace if needed to.10 -
Today it's a week since my Dad's funeral and I believe with my heart that he is sending me messages by getting me to the supermarket at the right time. So for my second haul in less than a week............
2 massive beef roasting thingies (can't call it a joint, no bone) 2.8 kilos
1 hagen daz strawberry
1 bag of potaoes
Full price total £41.38
I paid...... £11.25 !
I had 2 vouchers worth £1.50 but that is still probably the hugest reduction I have ever come across. There were only a few people milling for the reduced items and I asked them all if they wanted the beef but there were no takers. Thanks dad.
I will cut the beef into about 5 or 6 portions for roasting as there are only 2 of us. And Tiggy. This will last us a very long time. Ages. It's strange but I feel safe for the winter.
Hope you all experience something like this, something suited to your needs......soon.

We have a halogen oven (the clear glass bowl with halogen tube and fan in the lid) and I use that a lot instead of putting the big oven on. Ours had the extender ring also so I can get 12 jacket potatoes layered on the racks in there and they cook amazingly quickly (we eat a lot of jacket spuds here). I use it for roast potatoes, roasted veg, meats, reheating frozen shepherds pie etc. We're on our second one in 15 years and I wouldn't be without one. I managed to pick both DD's up one each via freecycle over the past few years too.12

mumtoomany it sounds like you've had a much rougher time with the storm than I have. I hope things get back to normal for you soon.
balabooberlies what a lovely thought that your dad is helping you.
DH and I have now had our covid boosters, so that's something to tick off my 'to do list'. I had a quick look in a local charity shop and got 3 craft magazines (2 with the cross stitch pack still attached) for free, 3 paperbacks for £1, and a pair of waterproof mittens for 50p. So that's enough things to keep me busy in the evenings for a little while. Although, tonight I will be writing out all the Christmas cards - I wish I was organised enough to write out a few at a time like my sister,

I have a worktop oven - had several in 15 years as I stopped using gas when the oven went as it was the only thing I used it for and the standing charge was more than my usage.I would rather a proper oven if I’m honest, though my latest is the best I’ve had - as baking is so hit and miss. When I can I’m going to get a standard oven that is electric - but it needs to be wired in so the current oven is okay.I use my slow cooker loads- chickens in a slow cooker are really tastyLife happens, live it well.8
