Shingles confirmed, the doctor spoke with DH and they agreed I was about ten days into it.
Then the staff arrived and she said she was the only one in a household of five that hasn't tested positive for Covid. So, well dosed up I did my usual day's work. The only thing DH did for me was to open a tin of soup at lunchtime, apart from that it was a normal day. I now feel rubbish and waiting for the tablets to kick in again before going to bed so maybe I can get some sleep.9 -
Take care of yourself Zafiro. Nasty thing shingles, hope you get some sleep.
A good day here, went to the library and got new books to read. Put £40 of diesel in the car so hoping that lasts me until the end of the month. Food from mealplan, washing outside, have put the heating on for a while because its cold tonight but will switch it off once DH is home.
Worked from home this afternoon so I got changed as soon as I got in so that my work clothes can be worn again.
I am anxiously waiting for the car bill to arrive so that I know how much it's going to cost. I have £450 in my emergency fund but dont want to use all of that if I can help it.10 -
Evening, all. Don't push yourself too hard @zafiro1984. Shingles sounds horrible and you don't want to make it worse by not resting and taking care of yourself.
A NSD for me today. Stuck to the meal plan - although my dog did manage to get hold of my frozen chips, so it was just pie and peas for dinner 😂. Luckily I wasn't particularly hungry!
Managed to keep the heating off today using a combination of layers and blankets.
Still got some of the bread I made on Saturday in the bread bin, and enough watered down milk for breakfast so I think it will be tea, toast and porridge for breakfast.
Fingers crossed, I think the only thing I need to buy for the rest of the week is milk.Live the good life where you have been planted.

taboo - that looks interesting, I didn't know those existed, I'll have look around tomorrow thank you.
Zafiro - sorry to hear you have shingles they can be very painful. When I retired I developed them first and then went down with pneumonia a few months later, never had either before, (or since) my friend said it was payment for retiring early!!!! Jealousy I reckon lol!!
I think the only frugal thing I've done today is babysit dgs so dd doesn't have to pay nursery fees!! I only do one day though, oh and get a free coffee shop coffee!

I popped to my refill shop and got hamster food - it’s a nice mix of stuff and I get a big bag for 80p. Better than the usual bland all in one stuff. Plus it’s funny watching a teeny hamster chew on a monkey nut! That’s £1:50 saved on the usual stuff he eats probably a 3rd of.I treated us to real butter as it’s definitely toast weather, aldi is 40p cheaper than Tesco! Tonight I’m shredding the free metros my daughter gets on her way to uni for me and loo roll stuffing for the fire. Frugal life is certainly interesting 😂
Is anyone growing anything well? My kale died - no idea what I did. Sigh.Life happens, live it well.9 -
