In other news, it's also day 3 of not spending here too. This is good for me
I have to put some petrol in my mums car tomorrow as I'm taking my DD back to her dads and I've not put any in for a while but it will only be £10. I'm determined not to buy anything else until at least the 8th and not even then if I don't need anything. I can and will do it!

Good morning and welcome to our latest arrivals.
It's cold and frosty here but once all the ponies are attended to and essential work done I'm going to make some blackcurrant jelly. The berries had been stored in the freezer since picking them and I'd to make space for all the food accumulating over the run up to Christmas. I used the Farmfoods cheap (to me) sugar and got about 8 litres of cordial made before Christmas so this needs further boiling down to make jelly. Should get enough to see the year through.
Breakfast was porridge. I make it the traditional Scottish way - one cup oats, 2 cups water, pinch of salt but then add something extra so today it was handful of sultanas and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Have a good, non-spendy day, frugalers. Catch up again after work.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hello! I would love to join in if that's ok? I took part in the challenge for a few years about 10 years ago, during that time I got rid of all my debt completely and lived a lovely simple frugal life. Things changed when I left my job after my 3rd maternity leave and decided to retrain. I have now been qualified for 4 years and love my new profession but unfortunately during this time I have taken my eye off the frugal ball and accumulated some CC debt (all at 0%).
So I have decided that this year is the year that I go back to being frugal and get rid of all the debt. 10 years ago this challenge helped me focus and being around like minded people helped me so much so I'm hoping it can do the same again.Credit Card Debt

Welcome @tryingtodobetter! Lovely to see lots of frugal friends joining in.
Plan for today is to wrap up and all get out in the garden to do some tidying and to completely declutter a storage shed of my husband’s (not a real shed, a sort of very large box you can lift the lid off and open doors at the front). Anyway it’s totally jammed up with rubbish.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

We've got a couple of those boxes @Bluegreen143 in our garden as we haven't really got room for a proper shed. We used to have one at the very back of the garden but because it's an odd shaped garden (it's only 12" across the very back as we have a triangular plot!) we had to get one made to measure which was very expensive, even when we first moved in over 20 years ago).
One houses our chest freezer which is immediately outside the French doors and there's another sort of round the corner where there's a sort of alcove which houses the lawn mower and gardening stuff. They're really useful. In fact far more useful than the shed we used to have!

Today is a quiet day, going to use up some pastry in the fridge and make some sausage rolls and mince pies to use the mincemeat up. OH is taking some presents we forgot to take pre Christmas to his DD’s, ( just drop off) I can bake and watch some of the telly he doesn’t like. Some garden tidying to be done here too but it’s still very cold here and can’t quite face it, hopefully next weekend as haven’t got childcare for DGD as her dad still off on his Christmas break till 11th😢 Miss seeing her as can’t visit due to tier4.I need to check budget but I doubt the DD will go out till tomorrow . I'm still here, still plodding away with all my challenges every year and enjoying seeing some of the original challengers reappearing. Your debt will be gone in no time and you know you don't need to have debt to follow s frugal lifestyle

Havent spent anything yet this month, I know I'm only 3 days in! Freezer looks full, I'm aiming for no grocery spending at all but doing one day at a time. Thawed out some meatballs for lunch.Magnolia Stellata12

Afternoon, long time lurker here checking in and getting stuck in. Given my increasing interest in sustainability and living a simpler life I've made a pledge to myself to try and do this challenge this year. No real savings goal in mind, just a faint sense of dread about my job so I'm trying to save up as much of a cushion as I can, while I can. I'll be working the challenge from month to month with a focus on not spending and there are very few ways to up my income so I'll be trying to make savings from the grocery and fun budgets. Thanks, Frugaldom for starting the challenge again.Trying for daily wins, and a little security in an insecure world.12
