Mine is much less than that @Blackcats plus I got a Covid hardship award so it was doable. I begrudgingly did it but I’m glad it’s done.It was my birthday Saturday and was given some money so I’m going to invest it into 2 decent food containers for the chickens and their food, bedding etc. As well as hopefully a tarpaulin for winter shelter - bird flu protection as that’s bound to come back.Life happens, live it well.10

Hello my frugal friends
I hope you are all well.. Will try to catch up on posts.
We are not being as frugal as I would like to be here, so as its near the end of the month it's time to reshift that focus ready for August.
I've got a chest freezer now so we can freeze more leftovers etc. I'm also going to try batch cooking - cook once eat twice.
There is a programme I found about trying to eliminate food waste i will try and find out what it is called. Pru is in it I found it quite interesting.
I'm going to try and eat and use up stuff in the cupboards between now and when the stuff starts to run out.
The boys have got a place tomorrow and Thursday for a sports activity club funded by the council
I need to get back into selling stuff and doing surveys.
I also need to do some skip runs (save paying to higher a skip)
Im going to make soup tomorrow with the veg that's about to go bad
I Need to find out when the next community pantry is open
Im also trying to keep the kids busy with as many free activities as possible over the summer holidays

I have had some wonderful foods from Olio just recently so I have had to stop visiting the local food larder too good to waste shop because I simply don't need anything for quite a while. My freezers are full to bursting as are all my shelves in the garage which is a good position to be in. I never cease to be amazed by all the totally usable food which in the past has been sent straight to landfill. I could have used this well when my son was a growing lad!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Popped into boots and stocked up on vitamins as found it hard to get them in winter. On offer 3 for 2 so stocked up on few others. Got a large free bottle of hand wash with my purchase with my loyalty card, I like a freebie. Eyes tested today free as disabled and got a free pair of glasses. Glasses are ever so expensive my brother is going to help me find some online. Just had to pay for car park. Popped into few shops and found a few Christmas presents in local CS. Calendar and diary for 2022 bought for a small £1.90 in local card shop. Needed a few things in Poundland as well so spent just under £20.00. A productive few days. Going to spend next few days doing an inventory of cupboards and freezer, I’ve got to start meal planning again. In my local supermarkets Shelves are empty But I’ve been going to small independent for the bits I can’t get anywhere else. Most pharmacists have run out of testing kits but the local independent ones have them.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £4810

Free morning out to local country park, free parking with season ticket and took own drinks and snacks. Booked tickets for local food And craft fair At end of August only £2.00 for season ticket holders for whole day and again free parking. I’m hoping I can pick few things up as gifts for Christmas whilst supporting local businesses. If not it’s a cheap day out, it’s outside so hoping weather will be ok.I’ve joined local library just need to pop down to get my card. Was given a free pack of Thornton’s cake bites today which will be divided into days for treats with a cup of tea in evening. Lunch today was free as visited my mum. I’m trying to use up stuff in my freezer so will be using up all the odds and ends tonight.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £4813

Ug over did it at work and ended up with a takeaway. So frustrating. But we’re still struggling with flies so being able to not cook was lovely. I’ve no idea where they’re coming from but I’ve gutted the house and cleaned pretty much everything to within an inch of its existence!I finally got my toilet properly fixed - under £10 which was definitely cause to celebrate. It’s been an ongoing issue - but we think it’s finally sorted. All those people telling me renting is a waste of money and encouraged Me to buy neglected to mention things break with astonishing regularity!Life happens, live it well.12

Hello frugalers! I don't know where the time goes and I have fallen way behind with the posts again. I hope everyone is doing ok and send my very best wishes to all who are needing a bit of a boost. Just tag me in or PM me if there's anything I can do to help, otherwise I'm liable to miss updates on here. For some reason, I'm not receiving general notifications. My mobile signal has been very sporadic so online time is mostly spent updating websites / social media and doing my paid work.
Uber-frugalism has been the norm and I'm making the most of Olio, swaps and trades while saving as much as possible. I've had a couple of different visitors staying, one of those being here to learn more about frugaldom & money saving, so it's been a busy month. Can't believe we're almost into August and STILL awaiting planning permission for our hut project, so no further news on that. I've resorted to soapnuts for laundry as I've had no time to make the usual laundry liquid and now it's time to start picking berries so that means jam making. Olio lemons and limes have been saved to make more marmalade and I'm hoping the first of the potatoes should be ready for lifting soon. The hot, dry weather has played havoc with most things that I was trying to grow. We don't have running water at Frugaldom and what we have managed to get via the nearby steam has been needed for the animals. I've now invested in another couple of small solar panels, rechargeable batteries and bilge pumps to move the water around the place. Knowing my luck, the rain will return and forget to stop now.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
