Shell Energy January 2022 v4 - Cheap Energy Club deal

Options
Hi Everyone,

Looking for some advice please as i'm not getting clear answers from Shell Energy regarding this. I took out the above mentioned tariff which was via the Cheap Energy Club and I've been told the account went live from 26th November 2020 but as of yet no bill credit has been applied which was mentioned in the original offer 'It increased the bill credit to £35 (from £25 when we launched the event) to compete with Utility Point, which had come in and undercut it. (quoted from Cheap Energy Club).

I've been told by Shell Energy - Shell Representative: Our team need to validate and approve the switch to the affiliated channel. Please remember we are not responsible for providing cashbacks or promotional product. It is the responsibility of the affiliate you have registered through to provide the cashback. The line, Please remember we are not responsible for providing cashbacks or promotional product concerned me as surely as it's a bill credit that would be Shell's responsibilityI was also told it can take 90 days to do this (which is fine) but a different representative informed me it should be applied within a couple of weeks...

Has anyone else done this switch and out of interest have you received your bill credit (or a similar switch with bill credits involved) or, would anyone happen to know when this is likely to hit the account?

Thank you :-)

I have the same issue. Shell doesn't have a clue and to be fair all of the customer representatives gave a consistent message that they (Shell) don't do the bill credit deal, mse does. They told me to contact MSE.  I sent a email yesterday to mse energy club and await their response. Also posted my issue here -

I switched to Shell through Cheap Energy Club and my account went live on 28 November 2020. In this last week (ending 29 January 2021) I have received both the £25 cash back from CEC into my bank acount and the £25 bill credit from Shell to my Shell Account. Everything went really smoothly with no problems at all. So far, so good.

Received mine too. Thought Shell would’ve notified us but checked account and it’s there. Did they credit you £25 or £35, as i thought it was improved from £25 to £35 to compete with Utility Point?

  • States £35?

My bill credit was £25 as I switched just before they put it up to £35  - that's par for the course for me! Always get in the wrong queue at supermarkets as well :D
