Our survey question

The people who are buying our property are having a survey.  The surveyor has just rung to arrange the appointment but I am a bit confused. I asked what type of survey they were having and was told it is a Homebuyers survey. I asked how long he will be at the property and the reply was no more than 90 minutes.  I thought that a Homebuyers took between 2 and 4 hours. It is a generously sized 3/4 bed bungalow with 2.3 acres and numerous outbuildings so it doesn't seem a very long appointment does it?

Ring back and tell him to do a more thorough survey!
    What exactly is your concern?

It isnt a concern - I just wondered if anyone else had had a Homebuyers survey which only took that long as I was led to believe they took between 2 and 4 hours -
  • I wouldn't worry about it - the surveyors are working for the buyer not for you and therefore it should be them worried about whether they are getting value for money or not!

You thunk wrong. 90 minutes sounds more likely to me.
  • My buyers had a Home Buyers survey and i was told it would be 90 minutes.  In reality it took 30 mins.
I think it is the full buildings survey which takes longer.
