If our purchase ever goes through we'll practically be neighbours! That house has loads of potential but personally for the work it needs doing immediately I think it's overpriced, even for Upminster. Have you thought about this one? Detached, 4 bed e,n suite, not as much of a project and cheaper!

ETA it drives me mad when EA's don't have floorplans
We've done a lot more than think about that one! Offer made but refused, we were gutted everything about it was just what we were after! - another just a bit further down Tudor was also nabbed from us too :(
We'd actually prefer to be there than past the station but hey ho.

Yeah, I did feel that this one is overpriced, I felt 725 was closer!

Good luck with your purchase :)

I don't get it.  I don't know Upminster, but that one is cheaper, nicer and detached than the unmodernised one.

The cost of renovating the semi-detached house anywhere close to the £900k one would be a lot more.   You're immediately knocking on the door of £200k worth of extensions - they've added 1,000 square feet and nearly doubled the size of it.  Plus renovations to the existing house - neither the plumbing or electrics will be able to cope with the additions and the plastering will need redoing.  Add in new electrics, boiler system and rads (those single panels are ancient and useless) with a kitchen and a couple of bathrooms and the cost will continue to rocket.

And the disruption - living in it to do it would be an utter nightmare.

£905k for the other house was a bargain.   They'll have spent more than the £170k it increased by.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks that's really useful, that's sort of my feelings too to be honest. I feel the only way it could possibly make sense is if we fell in love with the house when viewing it.

We were totally gutted not to get the detached one the previous posted linked to. The agent is just very slow in pulling it down!
