Congratulations on the pregnancy, it’s such an exciting time!!

In terms of your OH paying the CC, I’m sure everyone will have a different view and feel comfortable with different things.

we were in a similar place when my wife got pregnant and we viewed everything as joint and attacked the credit cards together. Ultimately we view the household income as one and it made things simpler to manage.

It also sounds like it will simplify your life a bit so I’d definitely go for it knowing you’re having a child together which I view as the much bigger commitment.

Exiting times and really pleased for you both!
    Thank you so much :)

I will pay for the next two months at the normal £150 per month rate and then will consider taking him up on his offer!

I'm so tired today. Being 30 weeks pregnant is no joke. It feels like the first trimester where I want to go for a 2 hour post nap work.

It's my payday tomorrow (yay!) I have £19.20 left over from this month so I have transferred that over to my personal savings account. This will probably end up going towards Christmas

I also completed an official survey from the ONS. We got a free reusable tote bag and you also get a £10 voucher via email.

We are hoping we can get a supermarket one and we'll put it towards getting our Christmas chocolates in with the weekly shopping.

    Morning folks :)

I got paid today so I shifted my share of the money for this month (£987) into our joint account and kept £600 in my own personal account to cover my monthly DDs, my personal fun money & for Christmas.

All my DD should go out either on Friday or on Monday. I should have a bit of extra money this month as my gym membership will go on hold (it will cost £10 rather than £30) and my audible is also on hold (no charge rather than £7.99)

My phone bill will be bigger by £10 this month as I used it to make a donation to charity - thank you, soccer aid!

Let the Christmas present buying begin! :)

Hi @gymgirl11 I have just caught up on your diary and find it inspirational.

Just like you I am pregnant with my first baby and tackling debt. I applaud your motivation for tackling your credit cards and saving up for items you need.

If it were me I would take your partner up on his offer of helping with the CC. You are a team and with the baby coming this will be one less thing to worry about. I understand where you are coming from feeling like you would owe him but I’m sure down the line you will help each other.

Congrats on your pregnancy and I have subscribed x

Thank you so much! Congratulations to you too :)

I’m 30 weeks now, so I’m in the home stretch and really starting to feel it. My main goals are: get Christmas presents & wrap them all by the 1st November & to also have all the baby bits and nursery prepped and ready for the first week in November.

My final working day is the 22nd October and then I’m on maternity leave and we have a mini 5 day break away so in an ideal world it will all be complete by then (Ha!)

I do have a really supportive and understanding partner. We are also quite lucky that he did get inheritance money recently which has made us a lot more comfortable.

I met my sister in town after work. I used the £19 I popped into my savings yesterday to get some treat bits from M&S plus one Christmas present. I then spent £3.05 on a hot chocolate and £2.60 on the bus home. I used to block pay £18 for 10 bus tickets but I used my final one on the way into town.

I do have my M&S delivery coming tomorrow as well. I brought some Christmas presents online (my list and lack of time started to make me feel anxious) so I’ve ticked them off the list.

I also keep waiting for John Lewis to drop their Christmas stuff as well so I can have a nosey. I’m more of a quality over quantity gifter so each individual family member tend to get a nice box of chocolates, then something to keep and something novelty, like a pair of reindeer/Santa socks!

Morning all  I'm still waiting for Christmas stuff to come in online so I can get it all ordered and start my wrapping but nothing has caught my eye yet.

I have the dentist today but this is free until my child turns 1 which is good. I have a fear of the dentist so had put off going for a good three years. I had a teeth clean back in July as it was desperately needed and I have another clean today, which will be my last check up before baby arrives.

We are pretty much nearly there with all the baby bits. We need to get some paint to decorate the nursery and we then just need: formula, some moses basket sheets and some scratch mittens.

We then just need to assemble the cot bed and Moses basket stand plus put all baby clothes in the wash.

Food shopping has all been done on the Sainsbug website. We don’t physically go food shopping anymore, we just do it online. We can’t be bothered with the faff and hassle of leaving the house, plus, less temptation online than in store. Unless.. you’re like me and have baby brain and have a tendency to forget things

This weeks shopping is quite high (£125), but this includes a bottle of whiskey for my OH dad’s birthday (£25) plus all the toiletries that we need (£7) and also Christmas chocolate gifts (£20)

We decided to do a ‘bigger’ shop this week as we are going away at the end of the month for 5 days so this is one less food shop that needs to come out the budget. We do have some points to use as well but we will use this in our penultimate shop at Christmas.

We have a separate holiday pot that we’ll use to get food & toiletries (if needed) for that week. We are staying in a cute Air bnb and it’s also my birthday that week so we may treat ourselves to a pub meal or brunch but other than that we will probably stay in and cook.

Final shopping price for Sainsbugs is £115.28 as they didn't have all the stuff and we didn't want the substitute items.

Mini bonus for this month already is that my OH got his expenses back from work for completing a 260 mile round trip (perks of being an account manager for a well-known motorway services). This came in at £245 so we are going to use this to buy the last baby bits that we need to buy and pop the rest into savings.

My treat from my personal money this month is a new sports bra. Due to my pregnancy I have gone from a small to a medium and I now need to replace them all.

I also have prepared a bag full of clothing for the charity bag collectors. I'm waiting for a charity bag to be put through the door!

We ended up in a minor car incident this evening, someone drove into our vehicle as we were reversing into our driveway.. lovely!!

OH is currently on the case with his insurance (I don’t drive) so I’m leaving it in cape able hands. The impact wasn’t so bad but I think the car bumper will need sorting as it has a giant hole in it. It looks more cosmetic than internal noises but we’ll see.
