Furlough Holidays

Hi, i was told yesterday that i am been furloughed 21st - 24th December but i had put holidays in for the 23rd & 24th so asked if i would get those back and i was told no.

Iv worked for this business for 16 years so in theory i have accrued these holidays - is this correct can they just take them off us and let us lose them

You are not going to be at work, and presumably are not required to be available for work, so there is no difference to you, so long as they pay you 100% of your normal pay rather than the furlough rate (probably 80%).

Your employer should not claim furlough for you if the reason you are off is not Coronavirus related. If it is just holiday leave over the Christmas period, as usual then they could find themselves in hot water.
