I didnt even think of a calendar, thanks....perhaps that may be a job for oh to buy lol..I'm sure he'll have to do lots of research ;)

Yep hes old enough he'll be "celebrating" his 21st birthday over there.
  • You can get a Blow up football in asda in their 2 for £8 range :) Best wishes to him xx
Thanks...I'll have to have a look.
  • For those who asked, I know there is a website to send our wishes to soldiers for Christmas. Can't remember the name though, but a quick Google search should do the trick.

Not sure if he'd like it, but a translation of Beowulf maybe?

If you check out the MoD website, I think there's a section where they send you free stuff. You're supposed to be between 13 and 18, but hey ho!

Raisins are a good idea too, I used to live in Morocco, and that was a perfect (and light!) way of getting some much needed energy when it was getting hot!

Oh and if you're sending underwear, make sure you send some 100% white cotton ones. Again, they're great in the hot weather (my brother used to swear by them).
Thankyou, hes always loved raisins......and definitely 100% cotton :)
  • I got my other half a wind up radio/torch before he went to afghan, he said it was one of the best things I've bought him.

Also when he's out there - nut's magazine do £1 or £3 trial issues and fit perfectly into a decent sized shoebox, they are always well appreciated!

I think the website you are all thinking of is www.supportoursoldiers.co.uk, is on my signature but it's not showing for some reason.

My thoughts are with you all.

A while ago now since my brother
    was in the army.

what about a phone card my mum
bought my brother an ET keyring
and a phone card to remind him to
    PHONE HOME !

I dont know if they still do them but
we also got a phone card from BT that you can
only ring one number on (she had it matched
to our home phone) the cost of the call was
put on mums phone bill, but it meant he could
ring us from any phone anywhere.
    :j:j:j
  • I'm not sure the best way to phrase this (especially as it's your son) but what the hell! :rotfl:

Lets call it oogling material! :A
