Teahfc said:There is no U.K law to state a best before date on any fresh produce.
If it is a processed product (Cole slaw or bagged salads for example ) then it must state a date.
If households cannot use common sense of smell and visual on fresh produce then they dump it, if they had a date on it then they would dump it without any smell or visual without hesitation.
The food we dump In the U.K. would feed those in poverty In this country 7-9 times over.Hopefully come 01-01-2021 if we don’t get a deal with the EU where the tariffs on food from the EU will be 8-34% many people will wake up and stop wasting food and money. Will not stop imported foods being in the U.K. but we will certainly not be flooded with over production like we have been in last 2-3 decades.A good time to start finding and viewing those recipe books we have all accumulated !
It's really not a good look making comments about people's intelligence or lack of just because you don't agree with their opinion.
