Is the Virgin money app rubbish or what?

I recently applied for a Virgin Money current account. The website would not open at all on my laptop due to a security message so I downloaded the Apple version of the app. I filled in my details several times as it kept failing and wiping them out. I eventually got to a part where they wanted address verification and I was to upload 2 documents. I managed to upload one, but then it didn't give any option to upload the second and took me back to the application form which was........blank. I gave up. Today I have received an email declining my application and referring me to credit bureau information. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my credit history. the upshot was I opened an account with Metro Bank. there were no perks to doing so, but the process was simple, instant and I received my debit card the next day. I would rather have that any day than all that hassle just to get a teeny bit of interest and a Virgin wine offer.

No problems here for both of us.
Two boxes of wine LOL
At least you have gained £50 by using the referral code. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
On the Apple appstore, the app has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 6,217 people. It sounds you are one of the few unfortunate ones who didn't get on with the app. Sometimes things happen.0

I mentioned this on another Virgin Money thread. The App problems have been really problematic for me and I have to admit defeat re. opening up a current account.
OH and me have managed to open current accounts or savings accounts with almost every other financial institution, but this one has beaten us so no wine for us for xmas !!!

Judging from my own experience, and from the main VM current account thread, those unable to complete an application for the VM current account are very clearly a tiny minority. The largest hurdle, if there is one, appears to be the figuring out the login details if you had a Yorkshire or Clydesdale current account or credit card in the past.0

Had an email that from Virgin that they will be switching off Online Service in January 2021.and we will need the Virgin Money Credit Card app. I will not continue dealing with a company that offers it's customers no choice. I feel this is discriminatory to its customers who prefer to see their transctions on a larger screen rather than a tiny phone screen. I hope for anyone who needs large print they will be offering the paper statements in such a format.1

No problem here at all! Registered on two different Android phones and Ipad! I had a simple and smooth experience opening and switching an account with them!

We tried to set up 2 accounts, mine went through no problem and app works fine (would be nice to have a log out button on first screen) wife account needed verification so had to wait for a letter with a passcode, it arrived a week later but when we input it we just got messages saying cannot open at this time please try later, tried next day with same message so gave up, 2% on £1000 is only worth so much hassle.
