Premium bonds - questions on old ones

Hi.. I have recently found £5-6000 of premium bonds that my mother/father have as part of their estate. I’m now a lasting power of attorney for my mother (my father passed away 16 years ago) and these bonds have been in a box for years.  How do I find out if she is due any prize as I believe they have not been checked for at least 16 years?

On the website it says you can register online or write to them and ask for the full prize history

It might be worth killing several birds with the one stone by sending NS&I a notarised copy of the PoA along with details of your mother's National Insurance number and ask them to check for any other long forgotten accounts or savings bonds that she might have had with them.

Might be worth noting that Premium Bonds can’t be held jointly so anything that was in your late father’s name would have stopped being entered into draws a year after he passed away.
