Foul smell in house
Comments

I had a 1930's house and the room where the suspended floor met the old extension with concrete floor would occasionally have a smell of rotting vegitation.Never did find out why, looked under the floor boards and clear but it would go away in a few days and not recur for a long time.Ditto my new place has a glass porch put up over previous steps with just a plywood floor. I get the same effect from that but reluctant at the mo to investigate. We;ve had a lot of rain again this winter and I do wonder if that has something to do with it.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Because they are burrowing animals, mice can squeeze through tiny openings (as small as 7.5 mm or a 1/4 inch). They don't have collarbones, and their fur makes them appear much larger than they really are. In fact, the average mouse is 1-7 inches long and weighs 1 ounce or less. A mouse's only limitation is his skull.Jack_Cork said:
A fully grown mouse could get through a 7.5mm hole?Debran said:They say a mouse can get in through a hole the diameter of a pencil.

Been out today and although a slight smell, nowhere near as bad so hopefully it will be gone soonDebran said:They say a mouse can get in through a hole the diameter of a pencil. From experience, they stink for a few days after they die but this fades with time. The only other thing I've had (long time age) which pongs is a faulty electrical appliance plug.0 -
Hi, I have a similar problem. I have a smelly kitchen cupboard. The smell is intermittent but there most of time. When I open door it seems to go. I have checked under kickboards in kitchen and nothing looks suspicious and smell doesn't seem to be coming from that low down. I do have a soil pipe that runs down from bathroom above that goes into manhole outside this I can just about see as it is boxed in. Plus I have 2 electric sockets that are used for cooker. Don't know who to call to check this out, plumber, electrician or drainage company I am at my wit's end0
