Not worth pulling out over. Put in the notice. It might be ready by mid Jan. If not you get storage container for about £80 a month to put your stuff in and try and get a good price on an out-of-season holiday let for somewhere to stay until it does complete.0

Storage is a great idea. Thanks. Not sure what a holiday let is, do they have those in London?moneysavinghero said:Not worth pulling out over. Put in the notice. It might be ready by mid Jan. A holiday let is simply a property let our short term for holidays, in many places there are unlikely to be popular in January so a landlord might be happy to to have someone renting for a few weeks.
In London I am sure that holiday rentals exist, but I would imagine that they are less seasonal than in most places.
You could look into thinks like long term hotel stays and 'apart-hotels' (Typically hotel rooms with a small kitchen, suitable for longer stays.
Then work out whether it is likely to be cheaper to continue to rent your current place until September, or to move out and rent elsewhere, in a short term property. Normally I'd suggest also looking for places you could stay as a lodger but you would have to consider how comfortable you would be with that, in the current health situation.
It's worth putting pressure on your sellers via the agents and your solicitor, to make clear that you have a deadline of the end of Jan to complete.

That's her problem, not yours.fleur8 said:
When I signed up for this tenancy, she asked me if I’m planning on buying a property as she finds it really annoying that tenants rent for 1 year and then buy their own place. I was in a bidding war with other tenants. I won as I had no intention of buying a property. But my circumstances changed. I wasn’t being dishonest. So when I told her of my plans she wasn’t happy so I either have to leave in January or September.
So you have a January break point, then fixed until September ON THIS TENANCY? Not through signing a new tenancy, no matter how hard she waves it at you?0 -
Not sure if its ideal but hotels/ serviced apartments near heathrow/ luton/ standsted airport is generally really cheap (back when we could travel I'd stay before a flight for about £40 a night for 2) im sure right now they'll be super cheap especially if you book in advance now for next yr
