isupply energy cheque bounced!

isupply energey went out of business this year and EDF energey took over the supply of thousands of energy customers.  Prior to going out of business Ofgem ruled that isupply had over-charged many of its customers and we received a cheque dated 11th September 2020 from isupply for £58.40.  Due to Covid-19 I did not present the cheque straight away but when I had a few cheques to pay in I paid the cheque in at the end of November 2020 and a few days later received a letter from our Building Society to say that the cheque had bounced.  The contact details for isupply have all been taken down, EDF energy are unable to help.  Ofgem say speak to CAB which I did yesterday and they recommended contacting the Adminstrators who are dealing with the closure of isupply.  CAB were unable to locate these details and I have also been unable to find out who to contact.  Can anyone help?  Many thanks, John Banks

Unfortunately I suspect that you will just join a long list of isupply creditors.  :'(

Rule #1, when you get a cheque from a company in administration you bank it immediately.
Not much help now I know, but most modern banking apps have the ability to scan a cheque and bank it for you remotely, but perhaps that isn't a facility offered by your Building Society.
But... are you sure they were in administration? I thought it was just that their parent company decided to withdraw from the UK energy market.
The parent is Vattenfall, and I believe they still have a UK business so you may have some luck chasing down that path perhaps...
