PPI Company charging for work done

Hello, can anyone please advise me?  i have received a bill from a PPI company for work done when they have said that a claim has already been made.  This only came through yesterday.  The ppi company in question i have not heard from for over a year. I also can not find the agreement.

Ask them for a copy, it’ll be in the terms & conditions you read before signing. Many CMC’s have a ‘time waster’ clause in them where they will rightly bill for time spent making a complaint for something you’ve already complained about previously.

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
  • It's a bit of a sham really, CMCs liked to advertised themselves as experts at getting refunds - the average person might well believe if they had complained and been rejected, that a "specialist" company might do a better job because they didn't know CMCs are just minimum wage housewives/students filling envelopes with generic templates and posting them off.

That may be the case but the OP signed up for them, agreed to pay their fees and has been billed accordingly. Plus there’s no mention as to whether or not that first complaint was upheld or not.

Granted but whether OP has been paid (and the claims firm suggested they could get more money) or the claims firm tried to look at every account and found only one existed, that had already been paid out, or OP complained and was rejected and the CMC had a go and found out - unless they asked whether any complaints were already in progress or had been raised, and OP said no, they could well have to prove OP deliberately wasted their time - will all depend on what was said between OP and claims firm

All ifs buts & maybes until the OP tells us what was ‘offered’, what was asked by them (have you made a complaint previously?) and what was signed.

if they’ve been asked about a previous complaint and said no then they’re bang to rights to be billed for ‘work done’ (even if the real world cost of this ‘work’ is about £20).
