Cheapest time of year to rent?

Looking to move out from home in the next year and I've noticed there's sometimes a reduction in rent prices for a lot of apartments on Rightmove.
Is this purely by chance or are there certain times of year you can get a better deal on rent?

I would say purely be chance; maybe been on rental market for long time so dropped the price

It's chance/ covid.
Rents remain reasonably static throughout the year. Flats are currently harder to rent/ lots of people moving out of them because of COVID and people wanting gardens.0 -
April 2020 was a good time to negotiate cheaper rent......Depending on area, I can imagine there are lots of places that might be negotiable at the moment.0

Yes, very likely to be many landlords suddenly seeing voids and starting to panic a bit.newsgroupmonkey_ said:April 2020 was a good time to negotiate cheaper rent......Depending on area, I can imagine there are lots of places that might be negotiable at the moment.0 -
I am a Landlord and have to say we have not had any issues renting out. TBH although I have never had to do it the only time I would consider reducing rent would be if the property was not moving on quick enough. But to be fair if the property is well maintained and looked after and priced right it will go no matter what time of the year. Yes everyone wants to get in for xmas but after that everyone wants to move in jan for a fresh start. I would also say anything with outdoor space is going to cost a lot more.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

But in a world where people think they need that space (Covid still with us world) there will be loads of job losses putting downward pressure on rents?BJV said:I am a Landlord and have to say we have not had any issues renting out. December is the time that landlords fear a void as it's the hardest time to find a tenant. So it follows that the second half of December through to the end of January are the times where you might find a deal or have a below-asking offer accepted.0

How do suggesting lower offers work? Do the agencies just contact the landlord?yksi said:December is the time that landlords fear a void as it's the hardest time to find a tenant. Best to go direct to a private landlord, cut out the agency.0
