Best tariff/supplier for running a hot Tub
Just ordered a hot Tub.. from online spas, awaiting delivery in january.. was looking up tips beforehand to make sure running costs are manageable. Just found out that our bulb vari fair tariff is economy 7, didn't realise this as we've had recent issues with having a new meter installed.. still not working correctly and we've only had estimated bills for 18 months.. they are looking into their !!!!!! u asap . So... assuming that as hot tubs need constant heating to maintain the temp I guess that it's not worth being on economy 7. We don't have storage heaters and the only thing we try to use at night is the washing machine. I think my tariff is 18 p daytime rate .. any suggestions and tips re electric companies tariffs, hot tubs and online spas welcome.

I'd have thought that the best tariff was the cheapest for the times that you'll be using it.
Unless you'll be using between midnight and 7am I'd have though that E7 isn't really ideal especially if you are paying 18p/kwh, my single rate is 12.25p/kwh and if you can do as the rest of us do, get onto a comparison site or two to see whats available. There are tariiffs around that are even a bit less than that. Try Which? & the CABNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
I always thought bulb was one of the cheaper suppliers. But even on a single rate I believe it's still 16 ish. I'm in essex0

Try Symbio, a few rates in the 10p range. Useless customer service, but cheap. Wackly billing algorithms, but cheap!!0

Your tariff seems expensive even for normal domestic use, so even without a hot tub you should be thinking of switching to something far more competitive. And for a hot tub, you should be thinking about gas.0
