Solar Panel mis-selling

It appears that Solar Panels often do not have the Financial Benefits that are advertised, or that people are promised when they sign up.
There are companies that are now contacting Solar Panel Customers and offering to take up a mis-selling case. This seems to apply to customers who used a Finance agreement to pay for the Panels. I have been contacted a number of times.
My question is:
Has anyone actually been successful with a mis-selling claim via one of these companies and perhaps more importantly, has anyone taken this up directly with the Finance company and been successful themselves, without using these any of these companies.
Thanks

I have experienced a similar thing. A company called "Anic Associates" have contacted me about claiming in the same way as a PPI mis-selling. My solar panels were fitted 10 years ago by "Solar Fusion" who have since gone out of business. Anic started by offering a "no win no fee" arrangement. Now they want £500 to start the ball rolling. Needless to say (I hope) we have not paid them a penny.3

@jonesMUFCforever,
What a very disappointing response from someone with so many posts. Yes, that is my 1st post but everyone has to start somewhere!
It probably makes no difference to you but I can assure you I am not part of the so called firms and as the type of reply I was hoping for from CornishCritter, the other 1st time poster is hardly promoting the company mentioned, it is unlikely that poster is either!
Having waited over 2 weeks for any sort of response, all I can do is thank CornishCritter for the reply.
Incidentally, my Panels were fitted over 5 years ago by SolarKing, who have also gone out of Business.
In answer to lincroft1710, yes I do have proof.
My initial questions go largely unanswered. I deliberately did not mention any of the companies who have contacted me.1 -

The general consensus here is to avoid companies that offer to reclaim in alleged cases of mis-selling, especially those companies who cold call. There must be a UK forum on the internet for solar panel users, which would probably have posts from people in the same position as you.
Can you say why you believe you were mis-sold solar panels? Are they costing you more than if you didn't have them?If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I have just found a previous (old) thread on this site about Solar Panel mis-selling, that I did not find with the searches I had done before opening this new one. After reading it I will not be agreeing to use the services of any of the Solicitor based companies but I may put something together directly to the Finance Company.

We have just been contacted by a company offering to claim back money from the panels installed by Solar Fusion on the basis of pressure selling and worse than expected returns. This was offered at 33% then reduced to 25% commission on no win no fee. After speaking to the consultant as the claim would be 10 years old there would be a cost of around £ 500 to proceed. I'm thinking its a bit of a risk - has anyone got any money back from one of these companies?1

I have experienced a similar thing. A company called "Anic Associates" have contacted me about claiming in the same way as a PPI mis-selling. My solar panels were fitted 9 years ago by "Solar King" who have since gone out of business. I have nearly covered the costs of the purchase of my 16 panels and don't feel that I was mis sold them. Unfortunately last year I did have a leak in the roof and ended up having to have it replaced which in turn meant that I had to get a company round to remove panels and they were going to re-fit them but
the previous frames were distorted and the panels size was large and new frames could not be found so I ended up having a new system fitted.
Anic said that due to Solar King going out of business and it cost me extra to have the solar panels replaced I should be able to claim back the extra expense. Has any one had a similar issue and been able to claim anything?
Anic were offering 33% commission until I said that it was too high and it came down to a possible 25% and I had said that I wasn't going to pursue a claim .
I came to this conclusion after reading the comments on this thread, and assume no one has received any reimbursement?2
