Sofa late what can I do ?

I ordered a £1000 sofa from The Range on the 19th August 2020, when I ordered it said get it by 5th November 2020, I thew my old sofa away a week or so before the 5th November I then emailed the range, as they are impossible to get hold of over the phone, to ask what time would my sofa be delivered on the 5th as I had no emails from them to say about delivery, they then said that they would have to contact someone to see how long it would be, when they responded saying that they had to contact the supplier to check the delivery is on track and going ahead, they then emailed again 4 days later to say "the supplier has informed us that the estimated delivery date for this order is w.c 07/12".
This is over a month later than what it told me on the website when I ordered. Also on the website it says that the range dispatches the item but they keep saying " the supplier".
Anyway its now the 7th I've had no sofa to sit on for over a month, I need to sofa before Christmas.
What can I do? Do I have any rights ?
Thanks

Delays are inevitable due to Covid and the knock-on from all the disruption this year. It's never advisable to chuck out an old sofa before the new one arrives but as that's happened, you have two choices: cancel the order, or wait. Did you buy in store or online? If in store, what does your contract say about cancellation?Silverdragon97 said:I ordered a £1000 sofa from The Range on the 19th August 2020, when I ordered it said get it by 5th November 2020, I thew my old sofa away a week or so before the 5th November I then emailed the range, as they are impossible to get hold of over the phone, to ask what time would my sofa be delivered on the 5th as I had no emails from them to say about delivery, they then said that they would have to contact someone to see how long it would be, when they responded saying that they had to contact the supplier to check the delivery is on track and going ahead, they then emailed again 4 days later to say "the supplier has informed us that the estimated delivery date for this order is w.c 07/12".

You can always ask if they'll loan you a sofa (I think I saw DFS did that for another poster recently) or just look around on freecycle or similar for a free or really cheap one to tide you over.3 -
The Range sells an item that costs a bag of sand???

So the sofa has arrives but is defected and damaged the legs are not in the correct places the arm has a rip to it and there are scuffs all up the back of the sofa with discolouration marks also what can I do ? I have sent the pictures over to the range as they said they don't deal with that and that they have to send over the photos to the manufacturer
Thanks0 -
Formally reject it in writing to the retailer, if that's what you want to do. It presumably came direct from the manufacturer, but your contract is with the retailer.
They have no liability for you prematurely disposing of your old sofa though. No free lunch, and no free laptop
