  • What was the eBay link? Or an equivalent (if you wish to mask your identity). I'm imagining something along the lines of this:

Just dispute it with them. If you know an approximate weight of the object (look for similar online) just tell them that they are wrong and offer them the proof. They'll come back with some rubbish about their scales being incredibly accurate and will waive the additional costs that they tried to claim, as a "goodwill gesture". That's what happened when they tried to bill me for extra. They sent a PayPal invoice which I ignored.

Unless they have a picture of your parcel on their scales of course...
If they had a picture of it on their scales it would prove their scales are not calibrated correctly. Even my cats would know 2 small curtain pole ends don't weigh 10kg
Well, we only have your word for that, don't we? If you don't have a photo of the item on a set of scales and you are not prepared to dispute the additional costs then you'll just have to pay it won't you?

BTW, the cat comment was, quite frankly, ridiculous and unnecessary. Your cats CLEARLY have no concept of the weight of the item that you say you sent. Did nobody bother telling you that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit?  If this is the sort of response you give to those who make suggestions to help you then you just don't deserve any help.

    Enjoy paying that invoice!
It wasn't sarcasm, I was merely illustrating that even cats would know that the items would not weigh 10kg it is that ridiculous. It wasn't to be taken literally. Obviously you don't have a sense of humor. I also don't respond to provocative trolling which your post clearly has all the hallmarks which I have reported to the forum.

I will not be paying, and they have no way of proving that 2 small glass globes can weigh 10kg as I have a photo of the items with the Hermes tracking number in the Ebay listing.

Yes, that kind of thing but a bit smaller and round.
  • There's no way in earth something smaller than that (or even that one) would weigh 5Kg. Hermes are having a laugh. 🙄

Not 5kg, they are trying to say it weighed 10kg!

Exactly ... 5Kg each :)  (I thought that would be obvious).

You need to be careful, to weigh anything like 5kg each, those finials would have to be made of Osmium and I suspect that MyHermes would say this was on their disallowed list.
