How long is a "reasonable time" for a new television to last?

It does depend on what she paid for the TV but she would also need to weigh up the cost of a report asking if the TV had an inherent fault (if that is the case which it may not be) vs the cost of the TV/repair.
The seller would only have to pay if the report did say there was a fault, do they not? If not, the daughter will be down by the cost of the report as well as the TV.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Many just want cheap cheap .As you say just bought from RS could have knocked a few quid off elsewhere .But JL £20 to deliver next day , 14 days price match , plus 6 years warranty ( though this is an add on to manufactures warranty )0
