Capital One Card

I recently got a Capital One card to try and improve my credit score. The problem now is that when I try to pay off the balance with my usual bank card, it keeps coming up with an error and wont let me pay. There is a button you can click to send a secure message, but that just takes you back to your account main page.
Ive stopped using the card now as it wont let me pay off the balance and will wait till its paid by direct debit then ditch the card.

  • If it's being paid by direct debt, then just let that happen.  Or simply pay from your own account.

Certainly don't ditch it if you're trying to build some credit history.

As others have said if your credit card is being paid by direct debit then use this to pay your Capital One credit card, that what direct debits are for.

As you're trying to improve your credit history (Not score as the number you see isn't what lenders use or actually see) then it would be a bit silly to ditch your capital one card if its your only credit card.

If you want to pay your card manually then you could do a faster payment from your bank account using capital ones bank details.

    Sortcode: 40-02-50
    Account Number: 81077082
Then when it asks for a reference number you put the long card number on your capital one card as the reference (this makes sure it goes to your capital one account so make sure its correct).
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
