The car might have been repaired, but considering most used cars on the road today will be bought and sold at some point with undisclosed repair jobs (which is natural) I think you're being a bit unrealistic in your expectations.
If it's from London, there was likely a price premium because of the market too.
Having an undisclosed repair is definitely not an issue, as you said it's possible any car has had work done that you'd never know about. Having a bad repair is, because it's a bad repair.
That said, you've had the car for 9 months, so it's going to be increasingly uphill to prove it was supplied to you like that and that you didn't get the repair yourself. What has the supplying garage said?
