New build estate being built behind our rear garden for the last 3 years.
Work 8am till 5pm and 8-12 on Saturday.
Lost our view of fields and sheep/cows.
All the city people wanting a new build in the country.
If you want isolation buy an island
Seriously I would be more interested in local shops, chippy, pubs, post office, doctors, hairdresser etc.
235 meters away !
Unless hundreds of lorries thundering past your window every day ?1 -
Thank you!
@dimbo61 That is very reassuring to hear. I spoke to a few of the neighbours on-site since there is already an existing development about 250m away, and based on that I came to the same conclusion too. It's near impossible to escape any development these days - there is a housing shortage after all. And I learned good development brings good businesses for the area too. So ultimately, it's up to the individual if they are willing to put up with it, and then commit to it. We decided we will commit!0 -
Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
I think so long as your house is far enough away that the excess of cars with nowhere to park doesn't spill into your street you'll be fine. That would be my main concern as with new build estates that is the main problem, roads too narrow and inadequate parking (or rather people buying houses without adequate parking for their needs). Sounds like you'll be far enough away not to need to worry though.1

Nope I wouldn't touch it - I lived next to a old house which was being turned into 4 luxurious flats and the noise, dust, beeping, cement mixers, lorries just from that did my head in.
