Google Account demanding date of birth

Getting regular messages from Google Account just now that it MUST have my date of birth to comply with law. Not prepared to do this, but no way of stopping messages.
Is it really required by law? I have all google permissions set as low as possible, but it still seems to be spying on everything I do and flooding me with adverts.

Whether or not it is sinister seems to depend on personal outlook. If it really bothers you, just use a false DoB.2 -
always use a fake DOB,

I always put 01/01/1900 which seems to satisfy most of these ... apart from one who would only let me use 1910!

Usually because they all default to the average human lifespan, which is typically from 1900 onwards. Outside of Dr Who you won't find anybody alive born in 1752. But I see what you're getting at with that date, good idea

Always a good idea to make sure that you remember which date you told them in case they ask you for it as part of some verification process?
would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .
