Smelling cannabis through bathroom vent

Hi All,
I live at a 1st-floor maisonette, in my bathroom, there is a vent (no fan), whenever my ground floor neighbour smokes weed, the smell is in my bathroom, sometimes depending on how much he smokes, coming into other rooms as well. Is there any solution to this? what happens if I close the vent with plastic? or is there some sort of vent which doesn't let outside air/smell in my home while letting air from inside to outside? thanks

The best solution is likely to be Positive Input Ventilation (PIV). With PIV, you have a unit in your flat that sucks in (and can also warm) fresh air from outside, and effectively pressurises the inside of your home, so that air is forced out of the home via any small gaps. This stops smells and pollutants getting in, and also solves many issues of condensation and mould that some flats have. The units are relatively cheap c£400, although fitting and having a heater for the incoming air adds to the cost. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1
