Bought a house which has no heating system. Grants?

Evening all, hope you’re all well!
Myself & my partner have just purchased our first house together. It’s a complete do’er upper, it has no radiators or central heating system at all, plus no loft insulation.
Neither of us receives any benefits. My partner is self employed (after being made redundant during the COVID outbreak)
All of the grants I can find for a boiler/heating system require you to be receiving certain benefits from what I can find, is this definitely the case?
A neighbour mentioned there were grants to cover the entire cost of a hydrogen heating system, but she was a bit sketchy on the details.
Ref the loft insulation, I take it there are no real requirements to qualify for a grant?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, however, as mentioned, looking at those links, it appears you need to claim certain benefits, which we don’t.Caz3121 said:this article is probably what you need

"If you're not on benefits, you can still get up to a maximum of £5,000 per household, though it will only cover up to two-thirds of the costs."0 -
Yes it does, sadly, going through the eligibility checker it doesn’t allow us any contribution towards a heating system.Caz3121 said:

How were you originally planning on heating the house? An answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......5

Loft insulation is dirt cheap and if you are reasonably fit, easy to install. Hardly worth the effort of getting a grant for. It is also the cheapest/simplest improvement that you can make that gives the biggest return. Go for a minimum of 300mm of fibreglass/rockwool, and you won't need any top up layers in your lifetime.Just don't get that spray foam stuff installed unless you want to make the property unmortgageable and factor in replacing the roof in a few years.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Why are you asking these questions now when you could have looked into all these things before you purchased ? Now you can start making your enquiries and I trust you'll get all the answers on this forum.2

Buying a new combi boiler and installing central heating myself.diggingdude said:How were you originally planning on heating the house?
Hadn’t considered the possibility of a grant towards the cost of the boiler, but if one is available then I’d definitely claim it, every little helps....4 -
Because a grant never crossed my mind. We won’t be moving in for 2/3 months while we do the house up, so there’s no desperate need for answers, just wanted to see what thoughts people had as it seems a bit of a minefieldcoachman12 said:Why are you asking these questions now when you could have looked into all these things before you purchased ?
