Hi
We set up a half barrel pond this year with few
oxygenators,dwarf water lily x1 , corkscrew rush x 1, scouring rush x 1
and water salvia.
What should be the care I need to provide over the winter? We have no fishes.
Thanks0

Very little, I'd imagine. Ponds should be self-sustaining. Really hard conditions might cause a small container to crack, though a real barrel ought to be fine.No idea what a 'water salvia' is and neither has Google. Nearest thing I know is salvia ugilinosa, which won't like being frozen solid, but mine in the garden are usually OK.0

Same as Dave, but I have seen idea of floating a tennis ball or similar in so if it freezes the ice pressure squeezes against the ball and doesn't' push against the sides & spring a leak
