Bath & shower positioning

We put a shower in in a flat we bought for my husband to live in when he worked away from home, in the same way as your current one is. I wouldn't do it again like that, the back of the bath had a steeper slope than your current one, and it was difficult to stand under the water flow.

I would just put the bath in the other way round, running the waste the length of bath won't cause any problems. At least is hasn't here for the last 22 years.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1

Yes, that would be easier than moving the shower to the other wall.0 -
An alternative view; ours is like yours is now and I never even considered that it would be better be the other way round. Up to you though...1

Thanks. I think the bath is supposed to be this way round. The waste pipe and taps feeds run along the external wall from the corner.shinytop said:An alternative view; ours is like yours is now and I never even considered that it would be better be the other way round. Up to you though...
The white pipe is for the the basin.

Crikey, is that a 40 mm pipe notched through all those joists? How much is left?

Looks like four joists are notched for the pipes. There’s about 130mm left on a couple of them.
Can see two splits on one joist. The lower one possibly reaches to the end.
Maybe could strengthen with a plate or something.

Regarding bath position, my brother’s one is the same as mine. Don’t think it matters which way round it is.
More important I think is keeping the waste pipe as direct as possible.0 -
I think then it was designed to be the way it is but the shower was a later addition. That avocado bath has been there a whiledanrv said:

You could just extend the waste pipe to the other side, don't see any issue with this!
Baths usually have one end with a shallower gradient so would be awkward to stand under the shower!1
