Parking Ticket from Private Company

Hi My son lives in Kingston on Thames and rents a flat that comes with a parking permit for one space. He was given a £60 fine which could rise to £100 if not paid by the deadline, for parking slightly over the grass of the property. He had reversed into the space within the lines, but the two back wheels were half on the grass and half on the tarmac. He has appealed, but they have stuck to their decision to charge him. Does anyone have any experience of private parking companies or recommendations on where else he might check the validity of the charge? He’s awaiting a response from the landlord, and there is absolutely no damage to the grass lawn, but it seems a ludicrous and unnecessary fine. Many thanks

    Have you read this?

    http://parking-pankster.blogspot.com/2016/11/residential-parking.html

What does the  lease/AST say about parking? Does it mention the need to display a permit? then it may take primacy over the self serving TnC of the scammer, and interfere with your lawful right to “quiet enjoyment” of your property, possible an offence under The Landlord and Tenants Acts.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP.

    Which parking firm? 🥱

Word-for-word, what did his appeal to the parking firm say?

Why isn't your son dealing with this?

With almost 50,000 cases dealt with by this private parking forum over the past 12 years, I guess you might be lucky!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

As above, Who issued the parking ticket? - this is  important, as is this from D_p_Dance:
"What does the  lease/AST say about parking? Does it mention the need to display a permit? then it may take primacy over the self serving TnC of the scammer, and interfere with your lawful right to “quiet enjoyment” of your property, possible an offence under The Landlord and Tenants Acts."
Is your son old enough to drive? - he may or may not have been the driver on the day, and at the moment its important not to try and guess as to the drivers identity, but if He is old enough to drive, then he should register on here to deal with it in person

Yes, you know you are posting on a forum all about these scam firms?  Surely you read some threads before posting.

We have an announcement guidance thread at the top in capital letters, called 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST'.  That's where you must start, and of course tell us who the PPC was (and don't ask what the forum acronyms mean - see NEWBIES thread first, please).
