Buyer asking Estate Agent to push for renovations after survey was completed

I get a feeling the EA is working on the side of the buyer and not us the vendor.
Too right! The EA is actually working on his own behalf, and he just wants to get the sale done, so he gets his commission. In this regard, he'll bully whichever is a softer touch, ie you or the buyer. At the moment, he's got you down as the one to bully. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
The buyer isn't going to maintain the offer that currently stands. If the vendor isn't going to budge then the potential sale falls apart. The EA isn't going to want to waste time.GDB2222 said:I get a feeling the EA is working on the side of the buyer and not us the vendor.

Hi everyone, buyer now wants to purchase an electrical survey. I am feeling that they are trying to be difficult/find a fault so they can negotiate the price. It is a flat in a Victorian detached villa - I have no idea if/when the electrics have ever been serviced.0

There’s nothing wrong with wanting an electrical survey. Fairly standard practice if it’s unclear when the electrics were last checked. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -

My point is that it's like a piece of elastic. The EA has to get the two ends to meet up, and the EA will pull on whichever end looks easiest. He's certainly not acting for the vendor in that respect. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
