I think you are confused, Argos have a Credit Card and a Store Card. There are two seperate things. You can apply for both, i applied for the Store Card not the Credit Card.

Its like saying JD Williams and Very have given me a credit card because they have given me credit.
Only if they send you a card. Until then it's a credit account.

If you're using a high percentage of your available credit, then yes, that will be seen negatively, although any promo rate helps negate that.

So basically my credit utilisation will be off the roof for the next 6-12 months due to these silly credit cards???
No lender will know i am doing a buy now pay later, they will just assume and i am killing my credit every month!
Companies who check your credit record will be able to see an accurate reflection of your borrowing. Whilst they can not see the exact detail their algorithms are pretty clever, they will figure out that borrowing over multiple months, with no payments against it, which is not marked as late or as in default and likely flagged as promotional will likely be on a buy now, pay later deal.

They key point might also be that it may not be wise to be creating more and more debt, regardless of the interest rate or the payment terms, and complaining that after running up a bunch of debts, that other lenders might not consider you for even more debt, would seem a little irrational.

If you're just using the balance for BNPL then it shows on your CRA's as a promotional rate.

Once it's on your files - come back and update as to whether it shows a promo rate or just a large balance. It'll be good to know the outcome :)
  • Does an ARGOS store card have the same statutory s75 protection as a credit card.

It may help you to consider that a store card is in reality a credit card too
