Bletchley Sainsbury’s / Brunel Centre Horizon PCN success

I want to say thank you to the people who contributed to the parking fines sticky – you’ve saved me £80! And to share my success for anyone else who falls victim of a predatory PCN at the above location.

Received a penalty charge notice from Horizon demanding £48 within 14 days for failure to pay for parking. Signage was poor, the driver never realised / saw the signs requiring parking to be paid for. The keeper received a PCN with ANPR images entering and leaving including timings and the duration of stay.

Returned to the car park after receiving the PCN to find the worst signage around the car park – there were no signs between where the driver parked and the entrance to Sainsbury’s. The car park entrance signs were angled poorly and not visible to the driver as well as exit signs being on the opposite side of the road to the exit.

The driver is an honest person and always pays for parking – so was determined to appeal.

After reviewing the newbies thread, the keeper appealed on Horizon’s online form with the generic blue text from the newbies sticky – unaltered. Also emailed the CEO of Sainsbury’s as the keeper – they replied saying they couldn’t help as the car park is technically for the Brunel Shopping Centre.

So it must be the appeal with Horizon that worked. Very pleased.

Apologies for the third person text, don’t want to make any admissions who the driver was; as per the newbies sticky.

Thanks very much again.

Brilliant news - in fact Plan B worked, the template appeal, because Horizon know that they'd lose at POPLA because they don't use the POFA.

So glad we stopped you sending an appeal from the driver, lost at POPLA (as a driver would) then faced he sh1tstorm of being sued.  I am so sad when people throw away their winning position as keeper.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have to admit I was dubious of it working at first, but thought 'what the hell, I'd rather not pay these thieving b*****ds' and gave it a shot.

Just goes to show if anyone reads the newbies sticky thoroughly, a few times to get their head around it - the winning result comes through.

    Thanks again.

Always works with PPCs who don't use the POFA and are BPA members, such as:
    Horizon
    CP Plus
    CEL
    Highview
    APCOA

    et al, all easy ones!

Agreed , to me it's the pan calling the kettle black !!

If the PPC cannot follow correct procedures and the law , do not complain about motorists actions or inactions , especially if there is poor and inadequate signage too

    Well done. 🥂

The trouble we have are those who think they know better, want to shove their story up everyone's nose, then argue with regulars who have been dealing with this scam almost every day for up to 10 years, that their view of the universe is superior to those of us who really know!
